Second Annual SEAL–NSW Family Foundation Event at Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club Raises Nearly $450,000

CHARLOTTE, NC — June 2, 2015 – The second annual dinner gala and fundraising event on March 2 at the Quail Hollow Country Club raised nearly $450,000 to support the SEAL-NSW Family Foundation.

The event, sponsored by PNC Bank and others, drew 380 attendees who thanked the Naval Special Warfare community and their families for their military service, and honored their fallen heroes.

“The second annual gala in support of our silent warriors and their families was an incredibly special evening. As we celebrated and raised support for these brave families, the patriotism of the Charlotte community was undeniable,” said Event Chair Alaine Bollinger. “We have established incredible support and new relationships in the Charlotte community with area business leaders and community leaders and look forward to expanding the Family Foundation’s awareness and impact in this region.”

The evening gala dinner featured comments by General Michael Hayden, a retired Air Force four-star general and former Director of the CIA and NSA; guest speaker Retired Rear Admiral Scott Moore; and Navy SEAL and Congressional Media of Honor Recipient Michale Thornton. Kimberly Dozier, author of “Breathing Fire” and contributor to CNN and The Daily Beast, was the event emcee.

The fundraiser featured a spectacular skydiving performance from Skydiving Innovations, followed by a reception, dinner gala with speakers and entertainment, as well as live and silent auctions featuring an array of items ranging from unique vacation destinations, remarkable military items and one-of-kind training missions, a round of golf for three with Lee Westwood and many others. The entertainment was provided by pop and country singer/songwriter Josh Kelley; 2011 winner of NBC’s The Voice Javier Colon; and Top Ten recording artist Steve Azar.

“I’d like to send a personal thank you to the City of Charlotte, the Quail Hollow Club, our title sponsor PNC, and the men and women of the community and business sectors who joined us to make March 28 a truly exceptional evening,” said William R. Fenick, executive director of the SEAL-NSW Family Foundation. “We were honored to showcase our organization and Family Focused programs to such a dedicated group of patriots, and we look forward to hosting another Gala Dinner in this outstanding community again next year.”
