Heritage and Remembrance
We recognize the importance of heritage and place resources to support the establishment of monuments such as Extortion 17, building and classroom dedication and naming ceremonies, and local tributes for our fallen. Remembrance is important and we help to ensure the legacy of NSW’s efforts are captured appropriately.
Gold Star Families – Bereavement
Our bereavement funding supports the obvious unfortunate items: funeral receptions, uncovered family expenses, travel, home-town memorial events, VFW participation, Honor Guards, local Police and Fire support, as well as annual family visits to internment sites.
Additionally, our Gold Star Family program funds a Continuum of Care capability that focuses on transforming the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. This specific program is designed to support NSW’s Gold Star families through a children’s bereavement camp, family stabilization program, and a leadership academy.
