SEAL Family Foundation

Foundation Facts

Founded in 2008, the SEAL Family Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization that raises funds and awareness for special programs in direct support of the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) families on a local, national and global scale. More than 90 percent of all funding supports direct services, and remaining funds directly support program administration and Foundation operations.

Our Mission

To support individual and family readiness through an array of programs specifically targeted to assist the Naval Special Warfare community in maintaining a resilient, sustainable, and healthy force in this era of persistent conflict and frequent deployments.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be the premier provider of benevolent civilian support services to the NSW communities we serve. This is pursued by collaborating with the leaders in Family Support to better understand the effects of deployment; by frequent analysis to ensure we are meeting current needs; by the delivery of exceptional programs; and by educating and involving the civilian population in support of these elite warriors.

CAPT WILLIAM R. FENICK

Executive Director
2015 – 2021

SEAL Family Foundation Stakeholders,

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as the Foundation’s Executive Director since 2015. Effective today, 22 September 2021, Ms. Cindy Axelson, our Program Director, will step up as the Acting Executive Director. I know she will continue to meet the mission and move the ball forward. I ask that you support her during this time of transition.

I have been humbled by the great work of my team, our entire Board of Directors, the many volunteers that support our cause, and the Naval Special Warfare community; each has worked to ensure we provided the right programs the right way. And for the last six years I know we’ve done that. I believe the SEAL Family Foundation has contributed in many positive ways to assist the Naval Special Warfare community with building more resilient families and I am very confident that the Foundation will continue to be a reliable and credible source of support to the community. As we begin to wrap up 2021, I can assure you the Foundation is staged for an even better 2022.

I am equally as humbled by the dedicated and patriotic donors that have contributed over the years. Whether via golf outings, gala dinners, corporate sponsorships, individual or family office/foundation grants – I’d like to say thank you. The Navy SEAL community is stronger for your commitment to support us.

It’s been an honor and privilege.
